After recently seein The Dark Knight in the movie theatres, it's hard to comprehend that Heath Ledger is really dead. His role as the Joker in that movie is iconic and will be remembered as the greatest villian in a movie ever, and that's not because of the situation. He stole the movie, and took the role to a new place, and will probably get an Oscar nomination for his role.
It's kind of hard to get away from the actor. When I was flipping through the channels yesterday, 10 Things I hate About You was on. The day before that, A Knights Tale was on, and the day before that, Brokeback Mountain was on. It kind of makes you sad everytime you see this actor on the screen because every performance he did was better than average, and the reality that we will never see it again is upsetting.
If you think about it, don't we all know someone personally who died too young? And if not personally, just someone who made an impact on our lives that passed at a young age. It just makes you think about a lot of stuff in your life, and for me anyway, it makes me appreciate things a lot more.
I guess all we can do is celebrate Heath Ledgers life by watching his films and talking about how great of an actor he was. I personally believe that he deserves the Oscar for his role as the Joker, and I believe that will solidify his name as an icon.

I haven't yet seen The Dark Knight but I really want to. I have heard nothing but good things about the film. I have also heard that Heath Ledger played an outstanding role, as you have said. It really truly is sad that he had to be taken so young.
heath ledger definitely made the dark night. it was my favorite movie of the summer, and will probably be my favorite out of all movies ever. i hear they want johnny depp to take his place in the next one if they make one.. i mean he would do a good job but it would be hard to see someone take heath ledgers role in batman when he did such an amazing job. whoever didnt see this movie, see it soon!
I have yet to see Dark Knight, I am kind of scared. I have only heard good things about the movie, but I loved Heath Ledger and I like to think of him in movies like the Knight's Tale. I don't know if I want the last movie I see him in to be one where he is so different from the way I have seen him before.
I completely agree with you. It is terrible that Heath Ledger died. The role he played int The Dark Night was the best villian, and maybe best acting job I have ever scene. Everything he did just seemed so real to me and I would have loved to see what movie he ended up in next. As long as it wasnt Broke Back Mountain 2.
